Kindergarten

Today was Malachi's first day of Kindergarten. I am defiantly one of those moms who go out to the car and cry after dropping of their kid on the first day of school. I could fill it coming on as I was getting him ready for school. I could see all of his milestones pass by in my head, his first words, first steps... I was sad and excited all at once. I knew this was going to be hard.

What I didn't expect was Sam's reaction he was at the school waiting for us. There is no way he was going to miss this. He was as excited as we were as we walked to the door. Sam found Malachi's name on one of the tables and we said good bye. As we left the room I noticed I was not the only one looking over my shoulder at our little guy. Sam paused in the doorway with me to watch Kye's reaction to us leaving. We were pleased to see him just fit right in, he didn't even miss us. We stood in the hall way with a few other Moms and watched him color. Abby was sad that she didn't get to go to school so we took her to play on the playground. We had only been out there a minute before Sam said "I think I'm going to go check on him again" and went back in the school. I followed eagerly wanting to see how he was too.

As we left I felt the tears coming but had to fight them back because of my very depressed 3 yr old in the back seat. Poor Abby had spent all morning getting ready for school too and she was devastated that she couldn't stay. She kept looking for her name on all the little tables before settling for a seat next to Kye. I had to pull her a way in tears. We stopped and got her ice cream on the way home. When we got home she went strait to my bed and said "I want cartoons Mommy and you lay right here by me for a while ok" Her tiny voice was so sad it was hard to take. I have to find her a preschool.

This was taken yesterday before we went to meet his teacher. What can I say the boy has Sam's style. I love the socks with the shorts:)
Eating a good breakfast starts the day off right and helps with concentration all day. Abby had to be in every picture with Kye. (don't mind my bills on the table behind them) I can do my own shoes this year. I got my shoes on too! "This stinks I'm NOT going to smile ever again" "see still not smiling. Mom please no more pictures." "Ok Mom I need one more picture this time of my backpack!" He didn't see me get this on he was to happy to see his Dad. Dad found Malachi's name on the table next to his chair he gets to sit by his friend Conner from Sunday school.
